Maserati launched the revised version of the its Coupe with a thumping 385-hp, 4.2-liter V-8, a Spyder version of the coupe, and the Quattroporte sports-luxury four-door for the first time after it was purchased by Ferrari in 199. At the Geneva auto show, Maserati also made public its intentions to get back into big-time racing as the company unveiled the sinister-looking sports racer code-named MCC, a mid-engine car, constructed almost entirely of carbon fiber and weighing about 2500 pounds.

The owner of the device MIRT (Mobile Infrared Transmitter), which helps in changing the traffic lights from red to green so as to enable uninterrupted traffic movement from 1500 feets away, discussed about his experience of MIRT. He discovered after ordering it on the Internet that to buy, sell and use MIRT in certain states was a criminal offence and he was not sure about its reliability.

The 5.3-liter V-8 is replaced with a 6.0-liter LS2 V-8 that churns out 390 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque.
