The annual Pebble Beach automotive events, that take place on the Monterey peninsula in California, are attracting larger and larger crowds, despite a steady increase in admission prices. The events include the concours d'elegance and the Monterey Historic Automobile Races.

The cost of fun, then and now

Article Abstract:

Sports Car Club of America racing in the early 1970s is described. A used Shelby GT-350 was purchased for $2,000 in 1970 and was raced to both the 1971 and 1972 Southeast Division Championships. A total of approximately $17,500 was spent winning the two championships.

Winter need not mean discontent

Article Abstract:

Winter can be a depressing time of year, but the spring of 1996 offers such excellent automotive events to look forward to that depression becomes difficult. Spring events include the New England 1,000 in May, and the Eyes on Classic Design auto show in June.
