The new enthusiasm is based on the fact that young people could purchase a used Honda or Toyota compact and equip it with a set of wheels and tires, a suspension kit, an exhaust tip scavenged from a Peterbilt, and mandatory sound system.

Hybrid issues, and a rising star at Indy

The feds are giving a one time $2000 tax credits to hybrid owners, and 16 states are offering come-on tax breaks, inspection exemptions, and single-driver use of HOV lanes as incentives.
