Article Abstract:

Eight sedans including Audi 5000S, Datsun Maxima and Dodge 600ES were evaluated with respect to its price, engine power, torque, and top speed, in the European mission over a 2300-mile route between Southern California and the tip of Baja California in Mexico. The problems faced by the drivers during their mission are described such as speed collision with a cow, floods and marooning.

Hybrid hype, and miscellaneous ramblings

Article Abstract:

The J.D. Power and Associates from California forecasts that 2006 sales among the proposed 17 hybrid models including cars and light trucks are expected to total about 260,000 units or 1.5 percent of the domestic market. Hybrids will grow to 38 models, both cars and trucks, by 2011 and will peak at a three-percent share.

'Buy American' doesn't work with the rich

Article Abstract:

Results of a survey conducted with respect to the readers of a magazine shows that out of 20 vehicles selected, 13 were manufactured in Europe, four were American-made and 2 from Lexus and one was Japanese. The results indicate a strong inclination among the American social leaders to buy European machines.
