A visit to the Dunlop Tire Corp in Japan is described. The company has been producing one of the best high-performance tires in its D40 M2 model. Now plans are being made to replace it with the 8,000 model, using the 2,000 model for luxury markets. The new tires are expected to be used globally.

Goodyear and Bridgestone/Firestone are vying to become the major supplier of race tires. The former has been able to dominate race tire distribution by becoming a major supplier of tires for racing applications. However, the latter has also initiated innovations on its array of race tires.

An experience of a one-week trip to Britain including that proved to be positively crammed with interesting technicalities is presented. The trip included a visit to tourist trophy at Silverstone, Bergamo, Brescia and Paul Richard.
