Article Abstract:

Four tire compounds from the Yokohama Tire Co were tested on an autocross circuit and skidpad. The hardest compound, incorporated into the Aegis tire, had a significant amount of butadiene rubber in it. The second-best compound, used in the MDH4 all-season tire, performed well in cold weather.

The higher gasoline prices in California may be attributed to the higher quality of gasoline in the market and the issue of feed stocks. Global politics is also an indicator of oil prices, with the warm weather caused by the El Nino phenomenon contributing to the decline in gasoline demand.

Synthetic oils: super lubes or super overkill?

Article Abstract:

Synthetic oils depend on crude petroleum or natural gas in order to produce ethylene and then alphaolefins. This is combined with esters, another ingredient of the base stock. Most synthetic oils provide versatile, reasonably-priced lubricants for automobiles.
