A world auto driving champion recounts a 1959 race where he and his teammate experienced virtually no problems with their Ferrari. This made him think they would surely win. However, the Ferrari experienced a technical failure which allowed the driver of an Aston Martin DBR1 to win the race.

1918 Mercer Raceabout: aerodynamically ahead of its time

Article Abstract:

The Mercer automobiles, named for the New Jersey county in which they were manufactured, were impressive cars in the early part of the 20th century, both on the road and the race track. Even today, a driver is impressed with the car's aerodynamic styling and running ability.

1914 Mercedes Grand Prix Rennwagen

Article Abstract:

A 1914 Mercedes Grand Prix Rennwagen driven by the legendary Ralph De Palma won the 1915 Indianapolis 500 race. The same car was recently brought to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a photo session with a modern-day Indy racing car.
