America3: the womens team

Article Abstract:

America3 is a sailboat operated by an all-women 16-member crew and designed by Goetz Boat Works to compete in America's Cup races. Computers were used in designing the sailboat, simulating races, selecting sails and plotting courses. The crew believes that women are better in teamwork than men.

Honda EV Plus

Article Abstract:

Honda counters General Motors' EV1 with the EV Plus, with the latter featuring a wider range than the former. The EV Plus is designed for city transport and makes a 'useful errand-mobile.' Furthermore, the EV Plus is offered at a reasonable package complete with insurance and full warranty.

JPL Rocky IV: literally out of this world

Article Abstract:

A planned 1997 landing on Mars will utilize a small, remote-controlled rover vehicle being developed by the US Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Called Rocky IV, the small, robotic vehicle is being designed to photograph the terrain and test the soil.
