The Clinton Administration is sure to introduce more legislation slanted against the interests of automobile owners, such as higher Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards. Most Americans will continue to be reluctant to give up their automobiles.

Political power over automobile laws has been moving from the states to the federal government, and re-electing Bush would counter this trend. A campaign victory by Bill Clinton would only lead to more centralized government.
