A Nissan Maxima SE, with a list price of $24,932, has been driven 19,713 miles and a Saab 900SE, at $26,740, has traveled 20,300 miles in long-term testing. Both cars have performed well, with only a few complaints. The Nissan has averaged 24.9 mpg and the Saab 23.0 mpg.

Long-term testing showed that the 1994 Saab 900SE was a reasonably good performer. The car is likeable and very enjoyable to drive but it has a big problem with reliability.
