The 2000 Audi S4 is intended to compete in the sports car market led by the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C280, Volvo S70/S80 and the Saab 9-3 Viggen. The S4 has twin turbochargers equipped with a 9:3:1 compression ratio and 16 psi of boost. It has high torque and sharp throttle kick even at low rpms.
