The 2000 Audi S4 is intended to compete in the sports car market led by the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C280, Volvo S70/S80 and the Saab 9-3 Viggen. The S4 has twin turbochargers equipped with a 9:3:1 compression ratio and 16 psi of boost. It has high torque and sharp throttle kick even at low rpms. A detailed and satisfying road test is also described.

The 1997 Panoz AIV Roadster has a box girder frame made of extruded aluminum and is equipped with a Ford Cobra 4-cam, modular, aluminum V-8 engine. Other major parts are also made by Ford Motor Co. such as the rack-and-pinion steering, disc brakes, gauges, wiring harness and fuel system.
