The 1973 Porsche 917/30 was the world's fastest road-racing car. The car, developed in response to declining interest in the Canadian-American Challenge Cup Series (Can-Am), had an 1,100-bhp engine and a top speed of 240 mph. Mark Donohue won the 1973 Can-Am Championship in a 917/30.

1930 Mercedes-Benz SSK

Article Abstract:

The history of a 1930 Mercedes-Benz SSK is traced. The automobile once belonged to Count Carlo Felice Trossi of Italy. It was designed by Ferdinand Porsche and was one of only 42 SSK models to be built. The car is now owned by Ralph Lauren.
