A personal account of an old 'member of the family,' a 1938 Packard with a V-12 engine and a Brunn All-Weather Cabriolet body, is presented. The V-12 Packards represented some of the finest classic cars of the era. The mechanical and personal history of the car is described.

Article Abstract:
Ferrari built the 4-cylinder 860 Monza in 1956. Ferrari may have discontinued the car because of its vibrating engine and reputation for being difficult to drive. The most recent owner of the car is former Renault Formula I team manager Jean Sage, who has restored it.
