Article Abstract:

Japanese and US experiments in space have brightened the prospects of using satellites to beam power down to earth using microwaves. Details of the Microwave Electric Transmission from Space expreiments are presented and discussed.

Mir mirror on the call

Article Abstract:

A giant orbiting mirror for spotlighting Earth's dark side was successfully tested by Russia. An unmanned Progress resupply spacecraft was used to deploy the mirror while cosmonauts aboard the Mir space station recorded the event.

NASA budget: keeping the nose cone above troubled waters

Article Abstract:

Pres. Bush has asked Congress for a NASA budget of $14.993 billion for FY 1993. This has required NASA to make difficult choices and establish priorities due to little real growth in space funding for the next years.
