The National Aeronautics and Space administration continues to promote the Freedom space station as a viable project. This effort has been bolstered by the Italian Space Agency's agreement to develop certain modules for the space station.

Whose docking port - mine or yours?

Article Abstract:

Russian and American engineers are working together to develop a universal docking system for the space shuttle Atlantis amd the Russian Mir space complex. The Androgynous Peripheral Assembly System was designed by Vladimir Syromiatnikov.

Russian lifeboat for Freedom?

Article Abstract:

Russian-built Soyuz spacecraft may have new uses as space lifeboats for the Freedom space station. The plausibility of these plans are explored and the design and capabilities of the Soyuz spacecraft are discussed.
