Was Hermann Oberth the true father of spaceflight?

Article Abstract:

Hermann Oberth was the greatest of a trio of scientists involved with spaceflight conceptualization. He was born in Rumania in 1894 and became famous with his book entitled 'Die Rakete' which discussed both the physical and psychological aspects of space missions.

A successful space tourism launch system would have to pass certain standards such as having an operational efficiency roughly 200 times over the existing Space Shuttle. Design processes must center on operability, reliability and cost, instead of performance.
