Article Abstract:
Both US and Russia have agreed to facilitate extensive joint space programs. Projects such as the Soyuz TM and Progress spacecraft evaluation contract and the cosmonaut flights aboard the Discovery have already been approved. However, several programs such as the Atlantis/Mir docking modifications and Russian Mars lander purchases are still being considered.

The Space Subcommittee of the US House of Representatives' Committee on Science, Space and Technology has devised a replacement for the failed National Launch System. Called Spacelifter, the concept will undergo scrutiny by both Congress and the Clinton administration.
