Cape Canaveral, the top spaceport in the US, has been bustling with activity since the beginning of 1995. One rocket has already been launched and more launches are scheduled to follow. In addition, the Orbiter Docking System, which will link US and Russian spacecraft in space, was installed in the Space Shuttle during this period.

Range safety debated as Air Force plans changes

Article Abstract:

The general public's safety is on the line as the Air Force continues to use antiquated equipment for monitoring rocket and missile launches. The equipment upgrading program of the Air Force is three years behind schedule and Congress is to blame for the slow release of needed funds.
