Space travel effects found

Article Abstract:

Different studies have determined that space flights affect the function and size of muscle, bone and other cells in the body. The June 1991 Spacelab Life Sciences-1 results show that several muscles undergo atrophy and neural synapses proliferate but fail to increase in size. Other studies confirm the reduction of healing and functional abilities after space flight.

Article Abstract:

Space Age is a new PBS television series which presents the significant effects of space exploration on our society. The series is comprised of six one-hour shows which begin with the presentation of people who first envisioned space travel and end with an episode on further moon and solar system explorations.

Pedaling space

Article Abstract:

Astronauts must have regular aerobic exercise to counter the long-term effects of microgravity on bones and muscles. However, this activity interferes with equipment used in experiments. An exercise platform developed by NASA and Lockheed Missiles is expected to solve this problem.
