Article Abstract:
The U.S. National Space Society (NSS) organizes a two day event every year called 'Rockets for School' program, involving school children from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota The program is sponsored by Great Lakes Space Port Education Foundation Inc. and the student teams launch the rockets built with the help of their science teachers, make oral presentations to judges, set up and maintain displays and other activities related to rocket business.

An astrobiologist is required to have an understanding of physics, chemistry, microbiology, as well as the ability to response to questions regarding how life began, how it evolved and is the Earth population alone in the universe. The University of Washington is creating a program to develop a new kind of scientist. The development of the program, based on astrobiology as the study of life in a universal context, is described.

Research is described concerning the experimental space vehicle Clipper Graham, built by McDonnell Douglas, using existing hardware, and aimed not toward developing technologies, but operations. It would provide ease of maintenance, operation and rapid turnaround.
