Article Abstract:

The joint venture of CNES and private firm Arianespace has yielded the sleek and ultramodern spaceport found in Kourou, French Guiana. The launching provisions of the spaceport are fully automated and require minimal maintenance. The spaceport is built for commercial space exploration.

The evolution of commercial space

Article Abstract:

Commercial space was previously considered an impossible venture but 1998 witnessed more commercial space vehicle launches from Cape Canaveral than either civil or military space flights combined. The Air Force and FAA expect the industrialization of space to accelerate in 1999.
