Article Abstract:
The NASA Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in a hands-on, team-based multidisciplinary, design-build-test engineering program. The program, administered by the Texas Space Grant Consortium, in the new undergraduate project course in Purdue's School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, is described.

Arizona State University students participate in projects that combine educational, service and research missions in a single program, as a complement to the engineering program. Details of the program in which the students participate in all phases from the initial concept, through design, development, testing and operation are described.

The Moon Devils' goal in their unique approach to hands-on technical learning is to design and build a human-powered vehicle for competition in the Great Moon Buggy Race sponsored by NASA at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The teams has won three Best Design awards in the race.
