NASA claim quickens NIH pulse

Article Abstract:

NASA's assertion regarding the space station Freedom's indispensable role in biomedical research annoyed the director of NIH. A reply letter presented to the NASA chief administrator indicated the NIH's demand that NASA must first evaluate the viability of their scientific projects before posing such claims.

NASA's Earth Observing System was reviewed before the House Subcommittee on Space. Federal agencies could aid in the development of the program, using more economical sensor technology and making sure that unpredictable and changing priorities are considered.

Ex-Skylab team takes a dive

Article Abstract:

The former crew of Skylab 4 was reassembled to take part in developing the design for the Freedom space station. The three astronauts took part in simulated weightlessness experiments in a water-filled mock-up of the Freedom space station.
