Significant scientific data about Mars can be obtained from the analysis of Martian meteorites which fell on earth. This cosmic fragments, which include Chassigny and Nakhla, could provide geomorphological and atmospheric data on Mars.

Ice in the solar system

Article Abstract:

New evidence suggests that water ice might be present on most of the planets of the solar system and their satellites. The observations indicate that ice may be present even in unlikely places such as the poles of Mercury.

Living on Martian ice

Article Abstract:

Astronomical observations have revealed large deposits of ice on the surface of Mars. The possible effects of this ice on the Martian climate and on any future exploration of Mars by humans are discussed.
