Centre Spacial Guyanais, spaceport for the Ariane projects, is located in the rainforests of French Guiana. European Space Agency continues to research and build the Ariane rockets, but marketing is handled by Arianespace. The program is considered excellent.

Global warming will eventually induce melting of the ice in the Antarctic region, consequently raising sea levels by an estimated 80 meters. With 90% of the planet's frozen water concentrated there, the region could well be the last frontier on Earth.
