Europeans in training for long duration spaceflight

Article Abstract:

European Space Agency astronauts are undergoing long duration spaceflight training to prepare them physically and psychologically for future space missions. The training program is part of the Euromir '95 project, a joint space program by Russian and European astronauts and cosmonauts.

Europe is onboard

Article Abstract:

European space administrators have modified the plans for an orbiting laboratory that will carry experiments in collaboration with several European countries. The Columbus laboratory will carry two to three astronauts who will be trained to perform all the functions on the orbiter.

The European Space Agency announced in 1994 a plan for a four-phase lunar exploration program. The initial phase will involve robotic missions, gradually leading to renewed human presence on the moon.
