China begins "long march" toward human spaceflight

Article Abstract:

Presented is information on the planned space flights China is preparing for. The country will become the third nation to successfully send man into orbit if their mission is completed. Predictions are made on when the possible flight will take place and what impact it has on the international community.

The "slingatron": have sling, will travel (into space!)

Article Abstract:

Physicist Derek Tidman believes that the slinging motion of a hula-hoop can be used to accelerate an object to hypervelocities. A brief overview of Tidman's Slingatron and how it can be used for space travel is presented.

The Voyager 2 space probe has provided previously unknown information on the planet Jupiter. Data concerning the planet's chemical and atmospheric compositions were provided courtesy of the unmanned space probe.
