Article Abstract:

The implementation of the U.S. President George W. Bush's Vision for Space Exploration (VSE) will present NASA the greatest institutional, managerial and political challenge in its 47-year history, including Project Apollo. NASA will require partners who will help them in shouldering the small and medium risks while realizing the space exploration dreams of the Americans.

Ditching Hubble bodes poorly for future space exploration

Article Abstract:

NASA has decided to end servicing mission to Hubble Space Telescope to focus on space station construction to ensure safety measures following the Columbia tragedy, igniting waves of controversy over the meaning of acceptable risk. Hubble Space Telescope is a national treasure that has given humanity mind-bending views of our wonderful universe.

Humans to Mars: time to start phase A

Article Abstract:

Pres Clinton's Feb 1997 Space Summit can and should start planning a manned mission to Mars, even given the NASA's steadily declining budget. Phase A of the project, preliminary design, could be completed by 2000 and given to the newly elected president, who could see the mission through by 2008.
