Article Abstract:
The Cia Fornaroli Collection, which was donated to New York Public Library in 1954 by her husband Walter Toscanini, the eldest son of the famous dance conductor Arturo Toscanini, with the purpose of documenting Italy's dance heritage and give it, its due recognition, both are discussed. It is noted that Walter Toscanini has immense contribution as a bibliophile and collector and has left scholar's a legacy on the history of Italian ballet unmatched in the world.

The small houses built in 1987 from scavenged materials by a group of homeless Puerto Rican men in a New York lot turned into a tiny cooperative community. Homeless individuals and families moved into the 14 houses, grew food, managed the village and took care of one another. To many of the residents, their new home offered them a sense of purpose and respect. Complaints from nearby residents led to the city's demolition of the village in 1993.

An exhibition was presented in the honor of Margot Fonteyn at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center. The exhibition featured an evocative selection of costumes, photographs and other memorabilia of ballerina Margot Fonteyn from British ballet.
