Article Abstract:
Eugene Loring's system of dance notation is not very well known but is based on the number one and has four categories of movement: emotion, direction, degree and special. To Loring, number one was the symbol of unity. One was represented by a vertical line and movement was indicated around this line. The system is harder to learn and less practical than Labanotation.
