Article Abstract:

The David Parsons dance company demonstrated its range of talents in three recent New York, NY performances. 'Step into My Dream' was a humorous collaboration with jazz musician Billy Taylor that was very up to date with 1990s pop culture. 'Touched by Time' featured excellent solo performances by Elizabeth Koeppen and other members of the company. The premiere of 'Ring Around the Rosie' explores the historical significance of the children's song and included David Parsons in the role as 'The Wanderer'.

The article describes efforts by the Dance Notation Bureau to collect records of ballet dance scores in Labanotation. The use of digital technology to translate notation to animated visuals is discussed.
