The experience of having known and danced for choreographer Jerome Robbins is recounted. Work for Robbins while attending classes at the School of American Ballet, Robbins's frequent concern with revision, his concern for establishing non-threatening relationships with his dancers, and his work ethic are described. Robbins helped those who danced under his direction to achieve significant work.
