Article Abstract:
The last living Denishawn dancer, Jane Sherman, has revived as many Denishawn works as possible in a new videotape 'Denishawn Dances On!' with the help of grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. The tape is accompanied by a richly informative booklet by Sherman, from which the connecting narrative, eloquently spoken by James Moody, is drawn and almost three-quarters of dances on the tape are solos, performed by noted dancers.

The annual joint program by three major, and diverse, New Jersey based dance companies, co-produced by the state Theatre in New Brunswick and this year called dances from the garden, was a heartwarming success. All three companies agreed that such a shared program is rich in benefits the dancers are exposed to other ways of working and get to perform in a major theater.
