The Cyclorama Center at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is one of several showpiece visitor center, erected by the National Park Service in the 1960s as part of a widespread effort to upgrade for heavy tourist use after the lean of World War II and is listed on the National Register of Historic places for its exceptional historic architectural significance. The Park Service intends to demolish Neutra's modernist monument and construct a new visitor center as part of a privately funded $100 million comprehensive redevelopment scheme.

The Heritage at Risk: Preservation 20th-Century Architecture and World Heritage, an International conference held in April 2006, showed how wealth and a building boom have transformed the face of the Moscow. Although some masterworks remain, many are run down or have been brutally remodeled and while some have been reconstructed as an imitation of the original style, in some cases surrounding sites that were inherent to the architectural plan have been built over.

Philadelphia is a good balance of the old and the new architectural styles, venturing beyond the colonial and 'Federal' style of the original design of the city. The United States Post Office, the 30th Street Station and WCAU are some of the important architectural landmarks.
