Article Abstract:

Linda Laubenstein, who died in 1992 at the age of 45 from complications of polio, was one of the first physicians to diagnose AIDS. Laubenstein was known for her compassion toward AIDS patients. Several friends, relatives, colleagues and patients discuss Laubenstein's life.
