Article Abstract:

Hearing loss is often at least partially due to excessive noise. Noise isloud enough to be harmful if it interferes with conversation or causes ringing in the ears or muffled hearing following exposure to the noise. Tips for protecting oneself from noise-induced hearing loss are provided.

More US women are obese today than were in the past, despite the trend toward focusing on fitness. Many women turn to food for its sedative effect. Three women tell how they stopped eating compulsively are profiled, and tips on recognizing emotional eating are given.

Revenge of an exercise nerd

A woman who had always been a failure at sports and exercise describes joining a karate class after dieting to maintain her weight loss. Karate helped her to become physically fit and to feel comfortable with her own body.
