Article Abstract:

Two women at high risk for breast cancer discuss the option of prophylactic mastectomy, the controversial yet effective procedure of removing both breasts to prevent breast cancer. One woman decides to undergo the operation because her mother wanted to have it but could not, and subsequently died of breast cancer. The other women decides not to have the operation but favors frequent check-ups and early detection as a cure.
