The experiences of three women after the Oklahoma City bombing in Apr 1995 are described. Paramedic Melissa Webster describes how she helped rescue people. Michele Vallean describes how her two children survived the explosion, and day-care assistant Ali Hatton describes her experiences.

The personal narratives are presented of three mothers who have dealt with serious issues surrounding the health of their children. The experiences include health problems identified with children during pregnancy and caring for a child in the face of serious disability.

In Jan 1994, Cathy Lynn Henderson kidnapped and murdered Brandon Baugh, a 3-month-old infant. Brandon's mother completely trusted Henderson and was shocked to learn that officials knew that she was an emotionally disturbed woman with a history of abusing children.
