Estrogen can be taken for different reasons throughout a woman's life. In her 20s and 30s estrogen is often taken to prevent pregnancy. Estrogen is taken in the 40s and throughout life to ease symptoms of aging. Information is provided to help women weigh the benefits of estrogen against its risks.
