Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the the problems facing Natalie Aurelio, who has been diagnosed with Batten Disease which is a neurodegenerative disorder, are presented. Particular reference is made to her family's tremendous efforts to raise 200,000 American dollars for Dr. Mobley to continue his research into gene- and enzyme- replacement therapy.

Article Abstract:

A woman describes why she decided to enter the Triathlon with its 2.4 mi swim, 112 mi bike ride, and 26.2 mil run. Her husband, who died suddenly, had dreamed of competing. Two years after his death, she finally quantified for the Ironman. Her daughter and new husband were there to support her.

A woman is torn between staying in Kansas with her pregnant daughter who is past due and returning to California to be with her mother who is dying from cancer. Her mother insists that she stays in Kansas until the baby is born.
