Article Abstract:
Children need to be taught from an early age that smoking cigarettes is a bad habit in order to reduce the chances that they will begin smoking in their teenage years. Ways in which this can be taught include engaging in lots of physical activity, having them read tobacco advertisements, teaching them different ways to relieve stress and constantly communicating with children about everything that goes on in their lives.

Boredom is natural and parents need not rush to fill in every moment of a child's time. Often too many material possessions, and too many high tech amusements breed boredom and passivity. Tips are given on helping a child build up her own creativity.

Children usually like to play with the toys that they need developmentally. Infants are stimulated by toys that are colorful and noisy and toys that move. Children aged six through 12 like toys that are challenging.
