Tourette syndrome: more common than you think

Article Abstract:

Tourette syndrome occurs in up to 1 in every 10,000 people. Its most common symptom is twitching although a child must usually be observed for a year before TS can be diagnosed. Most sufferers lose the affliction by adulthood. It may be hereditary. Tips on how to help a child with TS are offered.

Summer safety hazards: is your child at risk?

Article Abstract:

The most common hazards that children face during the summer are drowning, having a cycling accident, and being hit by a car. Parents should supervise children who are in the water, make sure children wear bicycle helmets, and teach children about traffic safety.
