Article Abstract:

A journalist recounts the day she and her husband encountered blatant racism during their weekend getaway near Cape May, New Jersey. The details of what transpired between the motel owner and the couple are given as well as actions taken because of the incident. The feelings of hurt and anger felt by the couple motivated some call to action. The results are given.

Article Abstract:

Eddie Polec, 16, was beaten to death in 1994 by a group of teens from a nearby Philadelphia suburb. Eddie's parents worked hard to keep the community from erupting into vengeful violence, even when the killers failed to show remorse and were not convicted of first-degree murder.
