I had a stroke at 41!

Article Abstract:

J.E. Paisley smoked a pack and a half of cigarettes per day, and had a congenital problem with her arteries. The combination of these factors caused her to have a stroke at age 41 that nearly killed her. She attempted suicide during her recovery, but ultimately regained happiness.

The new teenage drug danger

Article Abstract:

High school and college-age athletes are increasingly using human growth hormone (Somatotropin) to spur muscle and bone growth. The drug is injected, which increases the risk of AIDS or hepatitis transmission if needles are shared. In addition, the drug can have side-effects.

'I was pregnant when the car crashed'

Article Abstract:

A mother describes being involved in a car crash when she was 12 weeks pregnant. After part of her lung collapsed and filled with fluid, doctors used an experimental technique to save her life and that of her unborn baby.
