Zippo/Case Visitors Center Museum

Article Abstract:

Philadelphia, PA-based Steve Feldman Design was assigned with the task of designing the Zippo Manufacturing Co and W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Co Visitors Center Museum in Bradford, PA. The 15,000-sq-ft museum will consist of a store, the museum, and a repair clinic to fulfill the lifetime service guarantee for Zippo products. The design company wanted an ambience that paid tribute to American ingenuity which it did by creating a story via holograms, three-dimensional neon constructions and video loops inclusive of manufacturing plant virtual tour.

Hotel Europa & Regina

Article Abstract:

Los Angeles, CA-based interior decoration firm Hirsch Bedber Assoc has redesigned Hotel Europa and Regina for its owner, ITT Sheraton. The 192-room hotel was known as the home of the Tiepoli family in the 16th century and served as a fitting refuge for travelers in the 19th century. For a budget of $24 million, the historic building in Venice, Italy, has been renovated with some of its old features either preserved, restored or revealed while new features including communications equipment have been installed.

Rio Grande Puerto Rico: The Westin Rio Mar

Article Abstract:

Hirsch/Bedner Assocs executed the interior design of Puerto Rico's first new casino-hotel resort since 1983: the $178-million, seven-story, 591,000 sq-ft, 600-room Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort & Country Club. The resort building's interiors reflect a traditional Caribbean manor house complete with staircases, courtyards and fountains. Hirsch/Bedner specializes in hotels and resorts and ranked third in Interiors periodical's 1997 list of the top 40 multinational firms.
