Article Abstract:

The art director of the Winnipeg Free Press in Canada discusses the confused future faced by art designers. He feels that Web pages fail to allow as much creative expression to the designers, as the newspapers. Preece warns that designers should avoid the formulated cyberlandness that seeks to undo the achievement attained after centuries of hard work. He thinks that Website screens cannot be as appealing as reproductions from exceptional newspapers.
