Article Abstract:

The distinct architecture of Virginia's colonial houses is due to the attempts of Virginia tobacco planters to emulate English tastes using local materials. The Classical tradition was in full flower in Europe, and it was this style that hired English workmen applied on Virginia planters' houses.

The San Marino, CA-based Huntington Botanical Gardens' 12-acre Desert Gardens display nearly 5,000 types of desert plants in a landscaped arrangement. Specimens are planted where they will grow best and where they can complement each other to present the visitor with a pleasant view.

A tour of old San Antonio

Article Abstract:

San Antonio, TX, boasts of several historic sites, the most famous of which is the Alamo. The city is also noted for its famous symphony, two art museums, an outdoor riverside theater and the Southwest Craft Center. San Antonio is the 10th city with the largest population in the US.
