Article Abstract:
The Lehman/Smith/Wiseman office reflects the company's own design concepts of a modern approach, quality, cost-effectiveness and the unity of architecture and interiors. The office building's four-by-two foot grid, manifested both in the interior and exterior, became useful for the fabric-covered paneling and other architectural details. The carefully conceived ceiling design enhanced the office ambience and is complemented with a floor finishing which was Mediterranean-inspired. The resulting design features an economic office space that evokes a feeling of luxury.

CRSS Architects Inc converted a former spec office building located in the West Loopof Houston, TX, into its corporate headquarters. Redesign consisted of expanding the building core to accomodate kitchens, coffee bars, supply rooms and other facilities. The plan centered on a grid ceiling pattern which was carried all throughout and which served as the core for the floor and wall designs. CRSS designed the offices following the open areas concept, but modified to allow for small coves to provide privacy when required.
