Article Abstract:

The graphic designer in the computer games industry has the task of making the images look realistic and making the characters move around on screen in a realistic way. This is important as the games player is intended to lose his disbelief that the characters are real. Computer games graphics are unique, as they are not intended to be printed out as a hard copy. Of the two largest games system producers, Nintedo has a superior graphics manipulation quality to its main rival Sega.

A history of ideas

Article Abstract:

The 20th Century gallery at the V&A displays both individually crafted products and mass-produced ones. Exhibits are selected according to 20-year chunks and those that have themes common throughout the 20th Century. This is in contrast to traditional chronological exhibiting and adresses the issue of the role of exhibitions and whether they should preserve or educate the public. The exhibition is situated at the former gallery of British Art and Design.

'Vroom'

Article Abstract:

London's Victoria and Albert Museum staged 'Vroom!', an exhibition devoted to car design, in September 1992. The exhibition comprised a selection of design drawings, models and renderings produced by designers in the course of car styling and gave viewers an insight into the process of car design.
