Designers have been treated to different seminars on the benefits of computer-aided design for graphic arts practitioners and commercial designers. With the aid of new design software and other IT tools, designers can expand their audience reach through the language of the Internet. Communication through pictures is more universal than words since language barriers can be obstacles to clear communication. Information design is expected to be the future of graphic arts.

Frog pair split up

Article Abstract:

Industrial design company frogdesign Europe's former chief Thomas Gerlach has been sacked by frogdesign founder Hartmut Esslinger after a disagreement over company design strategy. Gerlach, together with three company executives, offered to buy the European office but their bid was rejected. They have now formed a rival industrial design company, VIA 4. Since the dispute, Esslinger, based in California, has sued VIA 4 and intends further court action.

The Austria Press Agency (APA) and Globus InforGraphic conducted Inforgraphic Unplugged, a graphics workshop, in cooperation with SND-DACH in Hamburg. This workshop helped in improving the infographic artist's creativity.
